April 16, 2014- Panhandle Steel Erectors Inc. picked up a Tadano ATF 130G-5, 160-ton all terrain recently, expanding its fleet to include a total of four AT Tadano cranes.

A big selling factor was the ATF 130G-5's immediate availability. "To be able to drive the crane off the lot as opposed to picking up at the port was a huge cost savings,” said Brandon Hillard, safety director and trainer for Panhandle Steel. “The other driving factor is the phenomenal Tadano service support team.”

The ATF 130G-5 has a lift capacity of 160 tons, features a 196.8-ft. boom, and a 105-ft. jib.

“The load charts on this crane are just what we need when working with cellphone towers and transformers as well as providing the spindle height and lifting capacity necessary for wind turbine jobs,” Hillard said. “With the versatility of several counterweight configurations, we are able to price out our jobs so we know the exact amount of trucks to use.”
