Nov. 3, 2023 – Tower crane manufacturer Potain plans to begin selling its just-announced Evy 30-23 4 t tower crane in North America next summer.
Potain, Manitowoc’s tower crane brand, unveiled the new 4.4-USt capacity tower crane Oct. 31.
The 30-23 4 t is the first model in Potain’s new Evy lineup of self-erecting tower cranes designed for building homes and residential buildings up to three stories high.
Potain is rolling the new model out in Europe now, and plans to begin offering it in North America in the summer of 2024.
The Evy range is the newest generation of Potain self-erecting cranes.
Designed using the Voice of the Customer product development process, it meets the market’s demands for simplicity and increased height under hook.
The crane is easy to set up and needs less manual operation than similar cranes, according to Potain. Its six-position adjustable outriggers can level the crane on slopes to 8%.
It delivers 4.4-USt maximum capacity and can lift 1.1 USt at the tip of its 98’5” jib.
Variable jib angles of 0°,10°, 20°, or 30° enable a range of under-hook heights to meet project requirements. They range from 75.1’ with the jib horizontal, to 114.8’ with the jib raised to 30°.
When horizontal space is tight, sections of the jib can be folded back hydraulically to shorten it to 78.8’ or 49.2’.
The hoisting system comes with an HPL high-performance winch and permanent four-fall reeving,
The CCS Crane Control System, Smart Set-up, Power Control, and Drive Control, give the operator complete and precise control, while ergonomic design improves operator comfort, reduces manual operation, and lessens operator fatigue.
The Potain Connect lets users monitor and analyze crane use, and enables local and remote diagnostics, thanks to the Access and Assist applications.
For transportation, the Evy 30-23 4 t is compatible with existing axles, enabling easy transportation as a trailer at 15.5 mph, or as a semi-trailer at 49.7 mph.
