The decision to invest was driven by growing customer demand. “We’ve had a lot of customers asking us to help with bigger projects,” explained Jim Burke, president of Associated Industrial Riggers. “The 300- to -350-ton market had the greatest number of requests.”
Based in Syracuse, New York, Associated Industrial Riggers specializes in a variety of services, including rigging and machinery moving, crane rental, structural and custom fabrication, plant maintenance, turnkey plant relocation, civil and site work and more. The company also has facilities in Georgia and Florida.
Purchased recently by Associated Industrial Riggers from Empire Crane Company to meet growing demand was a Tadano AC 6.300-1 six-axle, 350-ton capacity rough-terrain crane featuring a main boom length of 262 feet. The company also equipped the crane with a luffing jib to allow for longer reach.
“Versatility is enormous with this unit,” Burke said. “This crane can go out as a fully dressed 350-ton machine with a luffer, or we can remove counterweight and quickly turn it into a 200-ton as needed. That allows us greater flexibility, reach and range. The R/T’s compact undercarriage design also enhances maneuverability in tight jobsites, along with quick setup and teardown capabilities.”
The new Tadano AC 6.300-1 is already at work for Associated Industrial Riggers. Based at the company’s Orlando, Florida branch, it is now in use on major projects at Walt Disney World and Universal Studios.
The investment by Associated Industrial Riggers in the new Tadano R/T was facilitated by a long working relationship with Empire Crane. In particular, Burke pointed to Empire’s service and dedication as a catalyst for their ongoing partnership.
“Empire Crane is a family-owned business, and the owners treat us just like we are part of the family,” Burke said. “They always help us and serve us well. They are involved and available throughout all aspects of the deal, including financing, licensing, service and product support. Their service department also made us a priority in shipping, setting up and commissioning this unit.”
While buying specialized equipment is only as good as the support you receive and the dealership that sold it, Burke noted, he also gives high marks to the manufacturer. Tadano R/T models, he added, have been bulletproof in design and dependability, making the decision to add their AC 6.300-1 an obvious choice.
The investment by Associated Industrial Riggers in the Tadano AC 6.300-1 R/T, according to Burke, reinforces the company’s commitment to providing top tier lifting solutions for demanding projects. “This crane,” he said, “is an optimal choice for the evolving demands of modern construction.”
