Scott-Macon Equipment Finishes New Houston Facility

May 4, 2015 – Earlier this year, Scott-Macon Equipment completed construction of its new office complex and parts warehouse in Houston. The new 12,400-sq.-ft. building was constructed at the front of the company’s 10-acre property in southwest Houston, adjacent to its expanded service center, completed in 2008. In addition to the office complex, the facility now offers customers an easy-access parts center with a broader array of parts and components in stock.

Allan Woodruff, executive vice president, commented that “the completion of the new headquarters building caps a multi-year plan to meet the growing needs of the company while continuing to improve efficiencies in our Service and Parts operations.” In addition to the recent construction, the plan included significantly expanded service facilities, a state-of-the-art paint booth, and expanded parts storage.

Founded 41 years ago, Scott-Macon sells, rents, and services lifting equipment, primarily cranes, through eight offices located across Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. The company is a distributor of Terex rough-terrain, all-terrain, crawler cranes, boom trucks, telescopic material handlers, and aerial work platforms; and a dealer for Broderson industrial carry-deck and RT cranes, Tadano/Mantis hydraulic crawler cranes, and component manufacturers such as Cummins, Greer, Scania and Johnson. Last year, Scott-Macon Equipment was ranked 6th in North America in terms of RT crane rental fleets.

In January, the company completed a redesign of its website at www.smequipment.com.
