SC&RA Announces Safety, Job of the Year Award Winners

April 23, 2008 • The Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA) announced the winners of the Crane & Rigging Safety, Zero Accident, Crane & Rigging Safety Improvement and Job of the Year Awards during its annual conference, April 15-19, in Bonita Springs, Fla.

Twelve SC&RA members won a Crane & Rigging Safety Award because of their superior safety records:

·         AME, Inc., Fort Mill, S.C.

·         Bigge Crane and Rigging Co., San Leandro, Calif.

·         Budrovich Crane, St. Louis, Mo.

·         Dawes Rigging & Crane Rental, Milwaukee, Wis.

·         W.O. Grubb Crane Rental, Inc., Richmond, Va.

·         Hampton Cranes, Inc., Bettendorf, Iowa

·         Install, Inc., Sanford, N.C.

·         M&R Constructors, Inc., Richmond, Va.

·         Mountain Crane Service, Riverton, Utah

·         Stevenson Crane Service, Inc., Woodridge, Ill.

·         Waggoner Equipment Co., Wood River, Ill.

·         George Young Installations PR, Humacao, Puerto Rico

 

Eight SC&RA member companies received the Crane & Rigging Zero Accidents Award because they did not have a single recordable accident or injury in the past year:

·         Budrovich Crane, St. Louis, Mo.

·         Hampton Cranes, Inc. Bettendorf, Iowa

·         Install, Inc., Sanford, N.C.

·         M&R Constructors, Inc., Richmond, Va.

·         Mountain Crane Service, Riverton, Utah

·         Stevenson Crane Service, Inc., Woodridge, Ill.

·         Waggoner Equipment Co., Wood River, Ill.

·         George Young Installations PR Humacao, Puerto Rico           

            

Bigge Crane and Rigging Co., San Leandro, Calif., and Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc./Southern Crane, Raleigh, N.C., earned a Crane & Rigging Safety Improvement Award by showing an improved incidence rate compared to the previous year's contest entry

  

The association also announced its Job of the Year winners at the closing night awards and recognition dinner. Daphne, Ala.-based Barnhart won the Rigging Job of the Year in the over $750,000 category, as well as the award in the $150,000 to $750,000 category. Vanguard Rigging Ltd., Cleveland, South Africa, was awarded the Rigging Job of the Year for a project under $150,000.

 

Fagioli SPA, S.Ilario D'Enza, Italy, received the award for Hauling Job of the Year for a moving job using specialized equipment. Emmert International, Clackamas, Ore., won the award for trucking in both the over and under 160,000 pounds net categories.
