SC&RA Offers Updated Telescopic Hydraulic Gantry Systems DVD, Manual

November 21, 2008 – The Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA) has produced Recommended Practices for Telescopic Hydraulic Gantry Systems, a DVD and manual in response to changes in the industry over the last 10 years. The set replaces SC&RA's Recommended Practices for Hydraulic Jacking Systems. No other manual or video on the market covers this subject.

The 24-page manual covers five main areas: scope, definitions, and references; construction and characteristics; inspection, load testing, and maintenance; pre-lift planning and engineering; and operations.

 

Also included are a pre-lift planning checklist and a pre-lift checklist. The video reviews definitions and features demonstrations of equipment setup and the proper use and maintenance of the systems. The DVD was funded by the SC&R Foundation.
