SC&RA Presents Crane & Rigging Project Safety Awards

November 26, 2008 – The Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association, Fairfax, Va., has issued its first Crane & Rigging Group Project Safety Awards. These awards salute the mutual efforts of SC&RA company members and their clients to ensure that safety comes first. Projects with zero recordable injuries/illnesses are eligible.

Shortly after SC&RA notifies both the members and their clients that their projects have been designated an award winner, members present the award to the client. The following three companies have submitted award-winning projects: H.W. Farren Co., Inc., Rudolph, N.J.; International Industrial Contracting Corporation, Sterling Heights, Mich.; and George Young Company, Philadelphia, Pa. George Young Company received five awards.

Unlike other SC&RA awards, presented at the annual conference, the association will issue Crane & Rigging Project Safety Awards every month in which at least one submitted project meets eligibility requirements. SC&RA members may apply for multiple awards throughout the year, but only one award will be issued per project.

For further information, call Beth O'Quinn, SC&RA vice president, crane and rigging, at (703) 698-0291.
