SC&RA Presents President's Award, Names Board Members

May 5, 2008 • The Fairfax, Va.-based Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA) presented the President's Award to Kevin Cunningham, NBIS Construction and Transport Underwriters, during its Annual Conference, April 15-19, in Bonita Springs, Fla. The award recognizes individuals who recruit at least three new members to the association.

Cunningham has earned the award for 11 consecutive years; he recruited six new members in 2007. Of the 184 new members joining SC&RA in 2007, 34 were recruited by other members.

 

As previously reported, SC&RA has also elected a slate of officers for 2008-2009. Randall Goddard, Atlas Industrial Contractors, Columbus, Ohio, will be president. Joining Goddard as officers are John Ward, chairman, All States Freight Systems, Twinsburg, Ohio; Paul LeFebvre, vice president, LeFebvre & Sons, Elk River, Minn.; Bill Keen, treasurer, Keen Transport, New Kingstown, Pa.; and William Stramer, assistant treasurer, Link-Belt Construction Equip. Co., Lexington, Ky.

 

Also joining the board are four newly elected group chairs:

  • Allied Industries Group: David Wood, WHECO Corporation, Richland, Wash.
  • Crane & Rigging Group: Joe Bob Joyce, Joyce Crane, Longview, Texas
  • Transportation Group: David Lowry, Bennett International Transport, McDonough, Ga.
  • Ladies Group: Kathy Hardwick, Royal Tractor Co., Inc., New Century, Kan.

With the exception of the board members and the treasurer, all newly elected officers will serve one-year terms that will expire at the Association's 2009 Annual Conference, to be held April 21-25 in Palm Springs, Calif.

 

Additionally, SC&RA elected the following six new board members to serve three-year terms:

  • Michael Battaini, Sheedy Drayage Co., San Francisco, Calif.
  • Tom Bennington, Duncan Machinery Movers, Lexington, Ky. 
  • Scott Bragg, Bragg Crane Service, Long Beach, Calif.
  • David Lowry, Bennett International Transport, McDonough, Ga.
  • John McTyre, McTyre Trucking, Orlando, Fla.
  • Jim Reusch, Rushco Services, Shrewsbury, Mass.
