January 18, 2016 - Industry experts will share creative technologies, trends, and ideas for steel erectors and fabricators during the annual convention and tradeshow of the Steel Erectors Association of America (SEAA). The event will be held April 27-29 in Charlotte, N.C.
The only national convention designed specifically for the interests of structural steel erectors and fabricators, the event also draws architects, crane and rigging providers, detailers, engineers, and general contractors from across the United States.
Technical sessions are designed for field personnel. Among the topics to be presented at the 2016 convention are sessions on structural bolting, preventing aerial work platform accidents, crane operator certification requirements, and OSHA enforcement trends. Management sessions are designed for executives and business owners of steel erection, fabrication, and general contracting businesses. Topics include ironworker craft training, AISC Certified Erector program, flying robotics and subrogation, and trends in healthcare and retirement plans.
In addition, SEAA will present Project of the Year, Person of the Year, and William Davis Service awards to companies and individuals during the convention.
Keynote speaker Rear Admiral Terry McKnight, USN (Ret) will address convention delegates on the challenges in command. He will address the dynamics of working with a coalition of maritime forces that had never before operated together, while facing bureaucratic pressures from the U.S. federal government.
Featuring a balance of education and fun, the SEAA convention will include a tradeshow of suppliers and service providers with the latest products and equipment; the George R. Pocock Memorial golf tournament; a lake fishing adventure; pace car and Richard Petty driving experience ride-along; and nightly receptions.
