Sims Crane Opens Ocala, Fla., Branch

March 4, 2009 –­ Sims Crane and Equipment Co. has opened a new branch in Ocala, Fla. Bob Sheely has been named operations manager of the sales, service and rental facility, which opened in February to serve the Ocala and Gainesville, Fla., areas. “Local travel (freight) was needed to service the Ocala/Gainesville markets competitively,” Steve Stodghill, Sims president, says of the new branch opening.

           

Stodghill says the Ocala branch is strategically located for additional market area, and will target “all construction markets that may need our service through a local outlet.” Sims Crane, a Tampa, Fla.-based dealer for Kobelco, Tadano and Shuttlelift cranes, JLG and Skytrac forklifts, and JLG aerial boom lifts, now has 11 branches throughout Florida.
