Snorkel Reveals Two New Boom Lifts
December 22, 2006 • St. Joseph, Mo.-based Snorkel International has announced two new self-propelled articulated boom lifts, the 80-foot AB80J and the 85-foot AB85RJ. While the AB80J will soon be available to the public, the AB85RJ will make its first public appearance at The Rental Show.
The AB80J features a maximum horizontal reach of 59'5”. The upper boom articulates from -25° to 75°, and the jib boom articulates 140° (+/-70°). The platform rotates 80° counterclockwise and 70° clockwise, for 150° of total rotation. With the addition of a continuously rotating turntable, the Snorkel AB80J becomes a versatile lift for multiple applications.
Featuring an overall width of 8'6” and overall weight of 37,500 pounds, the AB80J can be easily transported. Maneuverability is made easy with four-wheel drive and four-wheel steer, and proportional joysticks control the unit's drive, main boom articulation, turntable rotation, and boom extend.
Snorkel's new AB85RJ features a maximum horizontal outreach of 62 feet. The upper boom articulates from -25° to 75°, and the jib boom articulates 135° (-65° through 70°). At the end of the boom, the jib also rotates 140° (+/-70°). Platform rotation is 150°, moving 80° counterclockwise and 70° clockwise. The AB85RJ also features continuous turntable rotation.
With an overall width of 8'6” and approximate overall weight of 39,100 pounds, the unit can quickly and easily be loaded for transportation. Standard features include four-wheel drive and four-wheel steer. The AB85RJ is controlled by proportional joystick controls.
