Southern Industrial Contractors Receives AGC Safety Award

November 17, 2010 – Employees at Southern Industrial Constructors, Raleigh, N.C., reportedly have worked more than 1.4 million hours on job sites without any lost-time accidents. For this accomplishment, Southern Industrial Constructors has been recognized with the Top Safety Award by the Carolinas Associated General Contractors (Carolinas AGC). The award is given annually to companies with outstanding safety performance records. Southern Industrial recently received the Presidential Award for zero lost time due to accidents in 2009.

Carolinas AGC is the largest construction trade association in North and South Carolina. The Top Safety Awards program compares Carolinas AGC members’ safety records by company size and construction specialty.  Carolinas AGC then benchmarks the results compared to those of other members of the Associated General Contractors of America.

“Southern Industrial winning our regional Presidential Award, which requires no lost-time injuries, helps show their commitment to safety and health within their company,” said Kenny Boggs, director of Safety Services at Carolinas AGC.

“This award is a testament to the hard work and cognizance toward site safety that our crews maintain each day in the field,” said John G. Wilson, president of Southern Industrial Constructors. “We take tremendous pride in an award like this, because it means our employees are staying safe.”
