Stafford Names Chief Operating Officer

Ed McHale
March 6, 2007 • Stafford Equipment, Tifton, Ga., has selected Ed McHale to be the company's chief operating officer. McHale is responsible for overseeing the establishment of common procedures and practices across all 11 Stafford locations, and he will soon be based out of the Raleigh, N.C., branch.

Previously, McHale was vice president of operations for Stafford's Ashland, Va., and Roanoke, Va., locations.  Prior to that, he spent 19 years in the rental and distribution sides of the equipment business, including positions as district manager for a national rental company and operations manager for two Caterpillar dealerships.

Stafford President and Chief Executive Officer John D. Wall said: “We're very excited about Ed's decision to run the day-to-day business as chief operating officer. With more than 19 years of experience in this industry, Ed knows what it takes to bring multiple locations together as one solidified entity, and we've witnessed his talent firsthand as vice president of operations for our Virginia locations.”

During the past year, Stafford has experienced a significant amount of growth by adding six new locations across the Southeast. Most recently, Stafford acquired Roanoke, Va.-based Scott-Gallaher, Inc.

With its growth in locations, Stafford has also increased its number of product offerings with the addition of manufacturer lines like BOMAG, Kobelco cranes, Kobelco excavators, Terex Roadbuilding, and Terex Construction.
