Sterett Crane & Rigging Adds Faymonville Vehicles to Fleet

October 7, 2015 - Sterett Crane & Rigging has added six Faymonville self-propelled vehicles to its fleet. The SPMC self-propelled “PowerMAX” vehicles for Faymonville were developed for the heavy haul and special transport sector. These vehicles are used when conventional heavy-load tractor units no longer have the pulling force for heavy loads, or when sufficient space is not available.

Powered by a 240kW diesel engine, the SPMC provides endless power with its 170kN force per axle line. Paul Hönen, North American sales representative for Faymonville, said: “With these power packs, more modules with driven axles can be supplied. Thus loads of several thousand tons at optimum distribution can be moved safely and easily.”

Sterett Crane & Rigging has six locations in Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, and Missouri. Hönen said that the easy handling of the SPMC vehicles was one reason why Sterett selected them. “The operator guidance of the SPMC system is absolutely user-friendly,” he said. “The clear touchscreen display indicates all relevant process and transport data quickly and clearly. The driver immediately gets an overview of the selected settings.”
