Straightpoint Increases Range of Wireless Products

Straightpoint extends wireless product range.

January 12, 2016 - Straightpoint has extended the range of its wireless products to nearly 2,300 ft. The enhanced technology, launched as standard late last year, covers all wireless products including the Radiolink Plus, wireless shackle load cell, wireless compression load cell, and the wireless version of the new running line dynamometer (TIMH).

The wireless portfolio will be available with almost triple the current range which is at 820 ft., and boasts 1,200-hour battery life as another standard feature. The products are weatherproof, and have no antenna, which can be vulnerable to damage.

Straightpoint’s Radiolink Plus offers an unrivaled strength-to-weight ratio plus a sealed enclosure giving electronic components IP67 environmental protection even with the battery cover plate missing.

The manufacturer has also launched an ATEX and IECEx version of its Radiolink Plus wireless load cell. The explosion-proof product will be assembled on a brand new production line. Meeting Zone 0 classification (an area in which an explosive gas atmosphere is present continuously or for long periods) is unprecedented in wireless below-the-hook force measurement technology, according to the company.

ATEX technology is widely accepted throughout Europe, while the IECEx version is required in many other global markets. The ATEX version contains several safety components that permit its use in Zone 0 environments. A separate storage area has been created at Straightpoint’s Havant, UK headquarters and all production personnel have been specially trained in the assembly of the explosion proof units.
