Sunbelt Relocating Corporate Headquarters

October 3, 2006 • According to the Rock Hill Herald, Sunbelt Rentals will be moving its corporate headquarters from Charlotte, N.C., to Fort Mill, S.C., by the end of 2006.

 

The company signed a 10-year lease for the two-story, 62,000-square-foot building, and the new facility will be more than twice as large as its current headquarters. Employees from Sunbelt's Charlotte headquarters and relocated NationsRent workers will come together in the Fort Mill facility. According to the Herald, Sunbelt plans to further enhance its headquarters by including a national employee training center.

 

Sunbelt had been looking for a new home for about six months and narrowed its search to Lancaster and York counties. "We tried to keep in mind what would be best for our employees," Sunbelt Rentals spokesperson Nat Brookhouse said. "It's a very nice facility. Everybody is very excited to be moving into it." He added that incentives also were a factor in the move.

 

Sunbelt will be the first tenant in the 277-acre Gold Hill Commons development in Fort Mill.
