Tadano has expanded its GTC Series of telescopic boom crawler cranes with the launch of the 60-ton GTC-600-2, replacing the 55-ton GTC-550. The crane features a 113.8-foot full power boom, 28.9-foot/49.9-foot extension and jib, OPTI-WIDTH capabilities, and lifting capacity up to 4 degrees out of level with full pick and carry, all while maintaining one-truck transport convenience.
“Our latest addition to the GTC Series provides incredible value for its users. It’s the only 60-ton capacity teleboom crawler that is transported on one truck, plus it has incredible job versatility. The GTC-600-2 will excel in core applications like bridge/heavy civil, power transmission and foundation construction, while being appealing for lift crane-based markets as well,” said Reagan Bull, COO of Tadano Mantis Corporation.
The GTC-600-2 retains many features of its predecessor, including jib capacities up to 2.5 degrees out of level, dual hook operation with auxiliary nose sheave or jib, powerful winches with 16 millimeters rope, standard remote control for rigging operations and a best-in-class 85% gradeability. Enhancements include a closed-loop hydrostatic swing system for smoother, more precise control.
The crane also integrates the Tadano AML-C Rated Capacity Indicator with operating load charts for slopes of 0.5 degrees, 1.5 degrees, 2.5 degrees and 4 degrees, automatically switching charts based on the crane’s position on the jobsite. Operators can set work zone limits for swing angle, height and radius, with functional soft stops as the crane approaches these limits.
“Customers have come to expect and rely on our proven and reliable systems, including efficiency, ease of use, reliability and rapid deployment of machines. The new GTC-600-2 will exceed expectations with its versatility, outstanding features and manufacturer support,” said Allen Kadow, Tadano product manager for telescopic and lattice boom crawler cranes.
The GTC-600-2 is powered by a 260-horsepower Cummins Tier 4f, Euromot Stage IV QSB6.7 diesel engine. An optional heavy configuration counterweight package, weighing 28,200 pounds (12,791 kilograms), is available for enhanced lifting performance at longer radii.
