Tadano Ltd., headquartered in Takamatsu, Kagawa, and led by President and CEO Toshiaki Ujiie, has announced a global collaboration with Danish wind power giant Vestas. This partnership focuses on the development and sale of wind turbine nacelle cranes, aiming to bolster the offshore wind power generation sector, a priority for the Japanese government.
This strategic alliance, supported by MHI Vestas Japan Co., Ltd., will see Tadano and Vestas co-develop nacelle cranes tailored for Vestas' new V236 offshore wind turbines. A formal signing ceremony took place on July 3 at the Danish Embassy in Shibuya, Tokyo, attended by Raphael Huot, vice president and head of procurement APAC at Vestas, and Tadano's CEO Toshiaki Ujiie.
While specific details and specifications of the nacelle cranes remain under wraps, the cranes are expected to exhibit high durability and maintainability to withstand strong offshore winds and high salinity conditions. Tadano, leveraging its extensive experience and expertise as a crane manufacturer, aims to significantly contribute to the spread of offshore wind power generation, aligning with Japan's critical energy policies.
Rooted in its corporate philosophy of "Creation, Contribution, and Cooperation," Tadano Ltd. is committed to enhancing corporate value and conducting sustainable business activities. This collaboration aligns with Tadano's mid-term management plan (2024-2026), which emphasizes "advancing decarbonization" as a key growth strategy. Under the "Tadano Green Solutions" initiative, the company is actively developing environmentally friendly products to support a sustainable society.
Partnering with Vestas, the world's leading wind power manufacturer, is a milestone for Tadano. The company anticipates that its contributions to the offshore wind power sector will not only flourish in Japan but also have a global impact, promoting a sustainable future worldwide.
