One such buyer was Southwest Industrial Rigging, which took delivery of a Tadano GR-1600XL-2 rough terrain crane and an ATF 400G-6 all-terrain crane. This is first purchase of both models for the Phoenix, Ariz.-based industrial rigging company, although owner Harry Baker said that Southwest Industrial has bought and will continue to buy the Tadano product because of its reliability and low cost of operating and owning costs.

The 160-ton GR-1600XL-2 crane is Tadano’s largest RT crane. Mounted on a three-axle chassis, the self-removable outriggers make the crane easy to transport. The GR-1600XL-2 is equipped with a newly designed 200.1-ft., six-section formed boom.  The single telescoping cylinder design allows for a working radius of up to 185 ft. The 450-ton capacity flagship all-terrain crane, the ATF 400G-6, has a strong main boom that extends 196.8 ft.

Imperial Crane Services Inc. also took delivery of Tadano’s GR-750XL-2 RT crane, which is the sixth 75-ton crane that Imperial has purchased from Tadano in 2014. Imperial has been a Tadano dealer for nearly 20 years.

The 75-ton capacity GR-750XL-2 features a 141.1-ft. rounded boom and 58.1-ft. bi-fold lattice-type jib. The crane is equipped with Tadano’s exclusive Eco-friendly systems, asymmetrical setup capabilities, and HELLO-NET telematics.

Bragg Companies received the keys for the 160-ton GR-1600XL-2 RT crane. This will be Bragg’s first GR-1600XL-2 in the company’s fleet.

In addition to the RT, Bragg purchased Tadano’s most popular all-terrain crane, the ATF 220G-5. The ATF 220G-5 features a seven-section, 223.1-ft. boom. With a maximum counterweight of 78.3 tons, the crane can lift 192.8 tons at a 10-ft. radius and swing 360°. The ATF 220G-5 can be configured with a 122-ft. jib that includes a heavy-duty 17.7-ft. jib integrated in the boom extension. The manually operated jib can be offset to either 20° or 40°.

Bigge Crane and Rigging Co. also took delivery of Tadano’s GR-1000XL-2 and the GR-150XL rough-terrain cranes. The 100- and 15-ton cranes join approximately 25 Tadano America cranes in the Bigge fleet.

“Our clients keep coming back to the Tadano models because of their performance, simplicity, and safety,” said Joe Nelms Bigge, vice president of sales and marketing.  “And, with such industry emphasis on eco-friendly machines and state-of-the-art technology, our Tadano fleet will continue to grow well into the future.”

The Tadano GR-1000XL-2 features a 154.2-ft., five-section rounded boom and a 58.1-ft. bi-fold offsettable lattice jib and comes standard with the asymmetrical outrigger setup that provides a advantage for setting up and working in confined areas.

Along with the 100-ton rough terrain, Bigge purchased the GR-150XL, featuring a six-section, synchronized telescoping boom that extends from 17.4 to 78 ft.  The long boom, compact size, and two-staged off-settable jib makes it an ideal crane in sectors where safety and environmental sensitivity are critical.
