Tadano Mantis to Debut 130-Ton Telecrawler at ConExpo
|
January 7, 2014 - TADANO MANTIS Corporation, Franklin, Tenn., has announced it will unveil a 130-ton telescopic boom crawler crane at ConExpo-Con/Agg. The GTCâ€1200 is the first completely new crane introduction since it was acquired by Tadano Ltd. in December 2008.
According to Tadano Mantis, the concept behind the GTC-1200's development was to design and build a telescopic boom crawler crane that met the requirements of its core market, which includes power transmission, bridge and civil, and foundation construction, while expanding the broader appeal of this type of crane. The development project was managed by the Tadano Mantis engineering team, while collaborating with Tadano Ltd. and Tadano Faun Gmbh. As a result, the crane includes a full-power round boom with two extension modes, HELLOâ€NET telematics, the AMLâ€C load moment system, and integration of hydraulic cylinders, winches, and jib systems from the other Tadano Group companies.
The fiveâ€section 155-ft. boom was designed to perform lift work, as well as outâ€ofâ€level, pickâ€andâ€carry, and foundation work. The main boom is complemented with a jib system that includes a 12.5-ft. heavy lift jib with a maximum capacity of 44 US tons, which is part of the standard biâ€fold jib that has lengths of 33.9 ft. / 59 ft. There are also optional 23-ft. lattice insert (max two) sections. The entire jib system can offset at 0°, 20°, and 40°, and when fully erected, it has a maximum tip height of 269 ft.
The GTCâ€1200 is powered by a Cummins Tier 4f, QSL9 diesel engine rated 350 hp @ 2100 rpm. The load-sensing, power-controlled hydraulic system optimizes the hydraulic output to the diesel engine power output for highly efficient operation and control; the swing system is controlled by a separate closed loop hydrostatic transmission. The travel system features twoâ€speed track drives with maximum speeds of 1.6 mph and a maximum unladen gradability of 52%.
