Terex AWP Appoints Two Vice Presidents

July 9, 2008 • Redmond, Wash.-based Terex Aerial Work Platforms (AWP) recently announced the appointment of two vice presidents. Siva Balakrishnan has been appointed to the new position of vice president and general manager of global services. Balakrishnan will report directly to Tim Ford, president of Terex AWP.
Balakrishnan will be responsible for creating Terex AWP corporate strategy, defining and driving the value proposition and creating the delivery model for services on a global basis.
“The industry experience Siva possesses in equipment operations and services will provide our corporation with valuable knowledge,” Ford said. “We are looking forward to experiencing Siva's vision for our parts and used equipment groups.”
Balakrishnan's responsibilities also include leading the Genie Industries parts business, refurbishment and rebuilding businesses including Phoenix Equipment, the recently acquired refurbishment company in Waco, Texas, as well as the Genie used equipment business. Balakrishnan will have direct profit and loss responsibility for these operations in
Prior to joining Terex AWP, Balakrishnan spent 14 years at General Electric in various positions around the world. Most recently, he was the senior vice president of operations for GE's Trailer Fleet Services business in
Terex AWP also appointed Joe George to the new position of vice president of global sales and customer service. In his new role, George will lead all globalization initiatives for the sales and customer service functions at Terex AWP. He will also report to Ford.

George will be responsible for developing global sales and customer service strategies that deliver on the Terex AWP customer value proposition while driving profitable growth for the corporation. His responsibilities include leading the professional development of global sales leaders and focusing on continuous improvement of the Terex AWP account management and sales administration systems. In addition, George will partner with the marketing organization to further develop the business unit's global channels of distribution.
“Joe is a proven leader in global sales strategy and customer service and we are thrilled to have him join our corporation as a key member of our executive team,” Ford said. “Joe's impressive understanding of the global business environment will result in added value for our customer base that continues to expand internationally.”
Prior to joining Terex AWP, George spent 29 years at Honeywell International Inc. in various positions around the world. Most recently, he was the global vice president • sales and strategic accounts for Automation and Control Solutions (ACS), a $12 billion segment of Honeywell.
