“Never before have we had an open house at which all our strong European brands have been presented together,” said Steve Filipov, president of Terex Cranes. Approximately 1,200 visitors from all over the world took part in the three-day event, which Filipov said gave the company ideas and suggestions that will help to continue its success in the international market.
Attendees were able to test the machines on display at the event. “Everything was available for thorough testing,” said Christian Schorr-Golsong, marketing director of Terex Cranes Europe. “For example, our clients could try out the new Demag AC 100/4 on the test course, prove their ability in a game of skill or stack containers with our new Superstackers; that is not something that is available every day if you drive a crane.”

Open house attendees were bussed to see a fully assembled Terex Demag CC8800-1 TWIN, the world's largest mobile crane with a lifting capacity of 3,500 tons. The lattice-boom crane was handed over to its new owner, Al Jaber Heavy Lift, at the beginning of October. The TWIN add-on kit for the 1,764-ton crawler crane Terex Demag CC8800-1 increases the CC8800-1's deployment range to situations involving up to 3,500 tons lifting capacity. The main boom can be up to 383 feet long and can be combined with a luffing fly jib of up to 383 feet in length, resulting in a maximum hook height of over 770 feet.
Also on display was the new Demag AC 300/6. With a lifting capacity of 330 tons, the crane is fitted as standard with Superlift, 9-section modular system for extending the telescopic boom, a second hoist usable in variable ways that can optionally be transported on the crane, and a fully automatic counterweight system. The company said this six-axle crane closes the gap between the Terex Demag AC250-1 and the AC350.
At a parallel event, more than 60 graduates and young professionals were invited to the first Terex Recruiting Day Germany. Alexander Knecht, managing director, and Michael Wöhler, vice president human resources Terex
