Terex AT Receives Excellence Award
June 16, 2010 — Terex Cranes, Zweibrucken, Germany, has received an “Excellence in Equipment Engineering Award 2010” for its AC 40/2 all-terrain crane in the category “Lift Equipment – Cranes”. The presentation took place during the Bauma exhibition in the booth of power train components manufacturer ZF, sponsor of the awards program organized by Diesel Progress magazine. The results of a survey sent by Diesel Progress were used to select the best machines in 13 different categories. François Truffier, general manager Terex Cranes, France, and Jean-Francois Auvigue, chief engineer at the Terex Montceau-Les-Mines plant, France, received the award on behalf of Terex.
The AC 40/2 and its sister model AC 40/2L are the latest in a long line of two-axle ATs produced by Terex in Montceau-Les-Mines. The compact crane evolved from this successful design and offers best-in-class boom length and strong capacity no matter the configuration, according to Terex. The AC 40 offers 12 percent more load capacity on its main boom and 60 percent more on the extension, compared to its predecessor version. The easy-to-operate counterweight unloading system makes it simple for users to equally load each axle.
