August 31, 2011—Terex
Corp., Westport, Conn., will show several new and
recently introduced cranes and aerial lifts at the International Construction
Utility Equipment Expo (ICUEE) in
The Crossover 6000 is equipped with the same X-pattern outriggers
found on the company’s new Roadmaster 9000 truck crane. “The design is central
to achieving a 60-ton rated crane in a roadable configuration,†said Jay Barth,
product marketing manager. The outrigger design lowers the overall center of
gravity and takes stress off the chassis, reducing wear and tear and increasing
its longevity. It also enables a 360° load chart. The crane is equipped with a
four-section 110-foot boom and offers optional lattice jibs of 32 to 57
feet.
The Crossover 6000 borrows several features from the company’s
T560 truck crane, including its upper, which is mounted on a commercial chassis,
and hydraulically self-removable counterweight system. Other features include
joystick controls for hoist, swing, and boom elevation; foot pedals for swing
brake, boom telescope, and engine rpm; and a hand control, also for engine rpm.
A rated capacity limiter features pictograph display and settable alarms for
work area definition.
The first Crossover 6000 was recently delivered to Houston,
Texas-based Scott Macon Equipment.

SCM55
Terex
Utilities will display models
from its new SCM Series, including the SCM48, the SCM50 and the SCM55
over-center material handling Hi-Ranger aerial devices. All feature the Terex
lower boom cylinder design for low travel height and the Terex-patented Tri-Link
elbow design for easy maintenance. Models feature platform heights of 47 to 54
feet and are designed for personnel lift and material handling applications. The
Terex HyPower Hybrid System is optional on SCM Series
models.
The brand new SCM55 features a 55-foot platform height, 46’1†side
reach over-center, 39'6" non-overcenter side reach at 110°, and a stowed height
of less than 11 feet. The SCM Series models come with one-person side-mount,
700-pound-capacity platform, single-stick controls, category “C†rating, 200° of
upper boom articulation and 110° of lower boom articulation, as well as a
full-pressure, open-center hydraulic system. All of the SCM Series aerial lift
devices mount on 31,000-pound GVW rated trucks.
Terex says the HyPower plug-in hybrid system, now in its third
generation, can easily be retrofitted to existing trucks without affecting a
truck’s chassis or drive line. HyPower has the power to operate the boom, cab
heater/air conditioner, lights, flashers, and exportable power without starting
the vehicle’s engine. It plugs into a 110-volt, 15-amp circuit, and recharging
takes about eight hours.
Also to be showcased at ICUEE, the Terex L13i Insulated Aerial
Device is ideal for light-duty chassis applications, in the 7,700-pound gross
vehicle weight rate range, including trouble truck work and tree trimming in
urban areas. It has a platform height of 35’6â€.
Terex
AWP
will feature the new Genie GS-4069 RT from its rough-terrain scissor lift line,
which also includes GS-2669 RT and GS-3369 RT. This RT69 family has been
enhanced to include up to 30 percent more horsepower, 13 percent more platform
work space, and a simplified link stack. The new design enables all three to
drive and function at full height. The 29-foot GS-2669 RT has a capacity of
1,500 pounds, the 33-foot GS-3369 RT offers 1,000-pound capacity, and the
40-foot GS-4069 RT has 800-pound lifting capacity.
