March 17, 2014The TII Group, manufacturers of the Scheuerle, Nicolas, and Kamag heavy haulage vehicles, has struck a deal with The Precision Companies to make its products in the United States. TII Group sees this partnership as a way to be in direct contact with local customers, provide shorter delivery times, and manufacture its product in the United States. The first American Scheuerle HighwayTrailer has been produced at the Precision Fabricating & Cleaning Co. Inc. (PFC) facility in Cocoa, Fla., and successfully tested.

TII Group and Precision Enterprises Inc. (PEI) have had a relationship for more than 30 years. PEI has been responsible for the sales and after-sales service for Kamag customers in America. The first step in the partnership is for Scheuerle single and double telescopic versions, as well as non-telescopic versions, of its HighwayTrailer will be built by PFC. The plan is to expand the agreement to eventually include other products for the North and Central American markets.

"With this cooperation, we are addressing customer requirements, as well as the increasing demand in the North and Central American markets", said Susanne Schlegel, commercial managing director at Scheuerle and Kamag.

"The cooperation not only means faster deliveries through the elimination of transportation times, but also achieving significantly closer proximity to our customers" added Bernd Schwengsbier, managing director of TII Sales. "With the HighwayTrailer, we offer a German product which has been adapted for the American market and is manufactured in the United States while ensuring German quality standards. In addition, qualified on-site service and purchase processing in the local currency through U.S. banks is also in place."

Robert Kelly, CEO of PEI, said the company is optimistic about the new partnership. "For over 30 years, a reliable and productive partnership between PEI and the TII Group has existed,“ Kelly said. „Raising this now to the next level and producing German products for sale in the United States is a logical step—the decisive impetus for this came from the resurgent American market.“

American-Market HighwayTrailer

Unveiled at the bauma 2013 by Scheuerle, the lightweight HighwayTrailer is ideal for the American market. The special design of the centralized middle frame provides the vehicle with a high level of stability and loading capacity. The "standard model" for the U.S. market is the double telescopic variant, but the HighwayTrailer is also available in single or non-telescopic versions.

Its hydraulic axle compensation, the lowest dead weight of its class resulting in a maximized payload of up to 108 tonnes as well as the impressive loading length reaching 32.60 meters, guarantee the vehicle operator extremely flexible and cost-effective transportation assignments. The Scheuerle HighwayTrailer is available with hydraulically balanced gooseneck or with trailer equipment.
