November 24, 2008 – Trico Lift, a full-service aerial lift company based in Millville, N.J., is the recipient of the American Subcontractors Association of New Jersey’s 37th Annual Safety Award. The award is given to companies that help define excellence in safety and serve as a role model for member companies, according to the association.

“In 2005, we made a business commitment to work toward the highest safety ideals in our industry,” said Ken Pustizzi, Trico Lift president and CEO. “We recognized we had been fortunate and that the protection and well being of our employees would be reinforced through added safety measures.” According to Pustizzi, Trico Lift then developed a formal safety policy and compliance program aimed at risk management and prevention.

”This award is a tribute to our employees who continue to work safely having achieved a near two-year record without a lost-time or recordable incident, an accomplishment which continues to receive industrywide recognition,” Pustizzi said after accepting the award at the association’s annual dinner on Nov. 8.

Steve Phillips, vice president of safety, leads that effort. He said the administration of Trico Lift’s program and adequate employee and operator training is paramount. Phillips is a licensed instructor and actively conducts aerial work platform training for employees, clients and interested groups.

“Scheduled maintenance inspections performed on each fleet unit occur at least every 90 days and often exceed OSHA inspection mandates,” Phillips said. According to Phillips, completed inspection reports are displayed on the exterior of each aerial work platform to communicate the company’s initiative to always have equipment that is OSHA and ANSI compliant.
