June 28, 2007 • Coinciding with today's announcement that it will be acquiring Snorkel International, the Tanfield Group also reported its Powered Access division, led by UpRight Powered Access, continues to demonstrate significant growth since it was acquired in May 2006.
According to Tanfield, the re-launch of the AB46 articulated boom lift was well-received at Bauma and the SED 2007 exhibition in the U.K., and the company has received orders for more than 200 AB46 articulating boom lifts machines to date. Installation of the third crane line at Vigo Centre, Tanfield's 250,000 square-foot assembly facility in Tyne & Wear, United Kingdom, is nearing completion and will further increase production output, which presently stands at an average rate of more than 130 machines per week.
UpRight continues making strides in the United States as well. In May, the company's current manufacturing facility in Fresno, Calif., built 150 machines • well in excess of its weekly target of 20 units. UpRight also won a major order from United Rentals for 80 TM12 mast lifts. The sale is valued at $800,000.
