UpRight Has Record $10 Million Sales Week
May 25, 2007 • Following Bauma 2007, UpRight reports its European machine sales are its highest ever in the company's 60-year history, and growth in North America, the Asia-Pacific region, and the Middle East is also strong. In fact, UpRight just had its first sales week of $10 million, which it attributes to strong sales after the show.
UpRight said it is “keeping a close eye on all machine lead times” and is working to ramp up production time to get it ahead of schedule. It also is recruiting about 10 assembly workers a week to ensure that machine output increases in line with its demand.
After UpRight announced its record $10 million sales week, the company also said it has appointed Richard Tindale as the sales and marketing director. Tindale joined Tanfield in May 2006 as product and business development manager for UpRight. Since then, he has led the brand's revival in the global marketplace, and under his guidance, UpRight's product range has grown from 10 machines to more than 20 and worldwide dealers have increased from 15 to 150.

Tindale previously worked for UpRight as marketing services and product manager in the mid- to late 1990s. After leaving the company in 2000, he held senior positions at Versalift and Garder Denver Powered Access.
“I came back to UpRight because the senior management team at Tanfield has the desire, belief, and capability to turn UpRight into a major global force in the access industry,” he said. “The growth we have achieved in 12 months is unprecedented and has laid a strong foundation for us to take UpRight much further over the coming years.”
