UpRight to Give Away Shelby Cobra at The Rental Show

January 2, 2007 • Fresno, Calif.-based UpRight will give away a brand new Ford Shelby Cobra GT500 Mustang to one lucky person at The Rental Show. To celebrate its 60th birthday and its renaissance in the United States, UpRight is throwing what it promises will be “one of the most lavish parties in the show's history,” and the one-off Shelby Cobra donning UpRight's colors will be the door prize at the invitation-only VIP event.

 

“UpRight is a legend reborn in the aerial lift industry, just as the Shelby Cobra marks the return of an automotive legend,” said Darren Kell, chief executive officer of UpRight. “We could not think of a more fitting prize to give away at UpRight's 60th birthday party.”

Since the UK-based Tanfield Group Plc purchased UpRight in June 2006, UpRight's order intake has increased five-fold and the company has reintroduced machine production in California. The company will open a major U.S. production facility in 2007 in order to manufacture a full line of scissor lifts and big boom lifts.

 

“We are injecting million of dollars into UpRight to re-establish its position as a global leader in aerial lifts,” Kell said. “We wanted to do something special to mark the company's 60th anniversary. A lavish party for selected clients • past, present, and future • is a great way to recognize UpRight's proud heritage.
