UpRight to Launch U.S.-Built Trailer-Mounted Aerials at ARA

UpRight will launch two new machines at The Rental Show.

November 19, 2007 • UpRight will use The Rental Show as the official platform to show its new range of trailer-mounted aerial lifts, which are being manufactured at the company's facility in Fresno, Calif. New machines UpRight plans to unveil at the annual rental event include the 37-foot UpRight TL37 and 49-foot UpRight TL49K towable aerials.

The TL37 is a light machine with a stable in-line boom and features hydraulic outriggers, a jib, and powered cage rotation as standard equipment. The TL49K has a heavy-duty boom and a wide variety of power options, including bi-energy. Key selling points are the simple repair and maintenance of hydraulic machines, along with high reliability and competitive pricing.

With volume production of the TL37 and TL49K at the Fresno facility to commence in early 2008, UpRight plans to introduce the entry-level model 34-foot TL34 shortly after. It also is in the process of developing a drive-assist system for the TL37, which is similar to the friction drive available on the TL49K model.

“The Rental Show is the ideal arena for us to showcase our new products,” said Doug King, general manager of UpRight. “Our strategy is to penetrate the significant market presented by ‘mom-and-pop' rental stores, who can really benefit from adding our high quality, low-cost entry-level equipment to their product range.”

Also at The Rental Show, UpRight's sister company Snorkel International will display the eight aerial work platform models it added from UpRight's product line, following Snorkel's acquisition by the Tanfield Group last summer. The company was n amed Tanfield's principal supplier of self-propelled aerial work platforms in North America, while UpRight continues to supply the UL-range of push-around aerial lifts and the aforementioned trailer-mounted aerial lift products in the U.S. and Canada.

Snorkel's eight new models were built at its Elwood, Kan., facility, which Tanfield recently invested $10 million in to help expand production. These machines include:

The 12-foot M1230 battery-powered mast lift;
The 27-foot S2633 ultra-narrow self-propelled scissor lift;
The 26-foot SR2684SL diesel-powered Speed Level aerial lift;
The 30-foot SR3084SL Speed Level aerial lift;
The 20-foot MB2030J ultra-narrow mast boom lift;
The 26-foot MB26Jmast boom lift;
The 32-foot AB38N boom lift; and
The 32-foot AB38W wide-version boom lift.
