U.S. Companies Expand Fleets with Enerpac Gantries

May 18, 2016 - Three U.S. companies—Sterett Crane & Rigging, Bay Ltd., and TNT Crane & Rigging—have added the 1,000-metric-ton the Enerpac SBL1100 hydraulic gantry to their equipment offerings. Enerpac distributor Kitchen’s Crane & Equipment, Chesterfield, Va., consulted and negotiated the deals, which involved trade-in equipment, freight services, training, and parts support.

Sterett Crane & Rigging, Owensboro, Ky., added the gantry to work on power and petro-chemical projects. The SBL1100 has added capacity to the company’s fleet of heavy-lift cranes and hydraulic platform trailers. The gantry can handle overweight components through the use of its side-shift features and synchronized lifting and travel functions.

Bay Ltd. (A Berry Group Company) in Corpus Christi, Texas, also has added in the SBL1100 to support its operations along the Gulf Coast. The self-contained hydraulic system and remote/electronic controls offer safety advantages for heavy-lift operations at its vessel production facility. Bay’s project schedules are dynamic, and the Enerpac gantry system allows the company to quickly mobilize and setup.

TNT Crane & Rigging, Houston, received one of the first SBL1000s nearly 11 years ago and added another this year. TNT’s heavy lifting and rigging crews use it and the SBL500 gantry to support its large fleet of all-terrain cranes and specialized projects throughout the south in the oil and gas industry.
