Volvo Construction Equipment Appoints Road Machinery President

August 14, 2007 • Volvo Construction Equipment, Asheville, N.C., announces it has appointed Pat Olney as president of its newly formed Volvo road machinery business line, which includes machines acquired from Ingersoll Rand's road development division and Volvo's motor grader product line. The road machinery business has production facilities in the United States, Germany, India, and China and is headquartered in Shippensburg, Pa.

 

Olney history in the machinery business dates back to 1995 when he joined Champion Road Machinery in Goderich, Ontario, as financial analyst and held the positions of investor relations manager, financial controller, and treasury manager. In 1997, the company was acquired by Volvo Construction Equipment. In 2001, Olney moved to Brussels, Belgium to become senior vice president finance and CFO at the company's headquarters. He returned to Goderich in 2004 as president of the motor grader business line.

 

Olney holds a business administration degree from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. He is also a chartered accountant (CA) in Canada. His new position was effective April 30, 2007.
