West Coast Contractors Celebrates 50 Years in Construction

August 2, 2012 –West Coast Contractors (WCC), Coos Bay, Ore., is celebrating its 50th year in business. The contractor has completed many heavy-construction projects in marine and all-terrain environments over the last half century. 

 

Founded in 1962 by Joe Kronsteiner and three partners, West Coast Contractors began as a road building and excavation contracting company and has since developed into a regional success story. Today, Joe’s sons David Kronsteiner, CEO and president, and Lonnie Kronsteiner, vice president, have carried on the WCC legacy by successfully tackling some of the most challenging construction assignments.

 

West Coast Contractors has also become known for their design of specialty equipment that helps solve complex construction challenges. The company has successfully handled demanding projects for customers that include NOAA, the Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Coast Guard, the State of Oregon, the State of California, Roseburg Forest Products and the Ports of Morrow, Newport and Coos Bay. WCC has also earned a number of prestigious awards including the Protect the Northwest Award for their proactive efforts to prevent the spread of an invasive species. David Kronsteiner also was awarded the Skill, Integrity, and Responsibilities (SIR) award for his exceptional leadership, loyalty, and contributions to the construction industry.
