Nov. 13, 2023 – Yak Access has hired crane industry veterans Rusty Daub and Scott Smith to lead its new division that serves the crane and specialty lifting industries.
Headquartered in Columbia, Mississippi, Yak Access has formed its new Crane & Specialty Lifting Division to deliver top-quality crane mats, provide expert consultation, and offer lifting solutions to customers in the construction, energy, and industrial sectors.
The division offers mats designed specifically for the unique demands of cranes and heavy lifting in order to ensure stability, safety, and operational efficiency.
Leading the new division are crane-industry veterans Rusty Daub and Scott Smith.
Daub is vice president of sales for the East Coast. His territory runs from Maine through Georgia.
Smith is vice president of sales for the other U.S. states.
Daub comes to Yak Access with 25 years of experience in the lifting industry, most recently as a territory sales manager for Empire Crane Company.
His career also includes experience with Stephenson Equipment Inc., Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and Crane Specialists Inc., Manheim, Pennsylvania.
“I am happy to be using my crane knowledge to help this new division of Yak Access give customers top-quality crane mats, expert consultation, and cost-effective lifting solutions,” said Daub. “Our local contacts and nationwide support enable Yak Access to be close to our customers and to minimize freight costs.
Smith comes to Yak Access having grown up in his family’s construction business, where he had run equipment since he was 12 years old.
He also brings 23 years of experience in the crane industry, including 11 years with Amquip, and, most recently, 12 years with Maxim.
“I’ve been involved in all aspects of crane work, from dispatch to project planning and crane specification,” said Smith. “I’m eager to help customers design mat layouts, choose the right mats, and then make sure they receive them on time at a competitive price.”
The division’s parent company, Yak Access, is headed by CEO Frank G. Bardonaro, Jr., a veteran of more than 35 years in the crane industry, including leadership positions with Amquip, Terex, and Maxim.
