CM Labs Acquires GlobalSim to Expand Simulator Training
CM Labs Simulations has acquired GlobalSim, expanding crane and port simulator training capabilities and U.S. manufacturing support.
CM Labs Simulations has acquired GlobalSim, a Utah-based developer of advanced training simulators, bringing together two companies focused on simulation-based workforce training for heavy equipment operators.
CM Labs, headquartered in Montreal, said the move strengthens its position in simulation-based training while expanding its U.S. manufacturing and service footprint through GlobalSim’s Salt Lake City location.
GlobalSim is widely known for crane simulation technology serving port, construction, industrial and military markets. CM Labs said integrating GlobalSim’s market knowledge with its existing technology and engineering capabilities will broaden the range of simulation-based training products available to customers, with a focus on workforce readiness, safety and productivity.
“This is a natural evolution for two organizations that have decades of proven safety, precision and performance outcomes in port operations,” said Robert Weldon, CEO of CM Labs. “CM Labs and GlobalSim are uniting to deliver unmatched quality, value and support to our port customers worldwide.”
Brad Ball, vice president of sales and marketing for GlobalSim, said the companies have a long history of parallel development in the simulator market.
“GlobalSim and CM Labs have pushed each other to innovate for nearly two decades. Joining forces allows us to combine the very best technology, engineering talent and industry expertise from both organizations. Our teams share a commitment to excellence, and together we will deliver training systems that lead the simulation industry for many years to come,” Ball said.
CM Labs stated that the acquisition supports its long-term strategy to expand simulation-based training capabilities for equipment operators worldwide while reinforcing manufacturing and customer support operations in the United States.
