Mountain Crane Service has acquired Lennon Crane and Equipment Company, a Washington-based crane rental and sales business that has served the U.S. and Canadian markets since 1975.
As part of the acquisition, Mountain will also become an authorized Tadano distributor, expanding its ability to supply cranes, parts and service.
“Good things happen when good people get together. Lennon and Mountain have been friends and partners for many years. We share the same culture and values, and look forward to working together,” said Paul Belcher, CEO at Mountain. “As we combine our forces, we can leverage our strengths to expand equipment availability, technical expertise and industry-leading service to our customers.”
Lennon Crane specializes in bare crane rentals and has built its fleet around Tadano rough terrain cranes, ranging from 35- to 160-ton capacity, as well as telescopic crawler cranes. The company has also been Tadano America’s exclusive distributor in Washington and Oregon.
“Joining with Mountain Crane represents a great opportunity to enhance the resources and services available to our customers. These are really great people that align well with Lennon Crane,” said Gordon Lennon.
Scott Lennon added: “Our core business in the Pacific Northwest will remain the same — late model bare rentals, sales of quality new and used equipment and great service. We are excited to continue as a Tadano distributor and represent the GR, GT, GTC and AC lines under the Mountain name. We have some big announcements coming and I’m excited to be a part of the team.”
Mountain has already placed a significant stock order to strengthen its Tadano sales fleet, ensuring customers experience no interruption in equipment availability, parts or service.
“We are excited about this new chapter with Mountain, an organization known for integrity, innovation and exceptional service,” said Daniel Melnyk, vice president of sales North America at Tadano America. “This partnership reinforces our commitment to providing continuity and excellence to our valued customers in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.”
Both companies emphasized that Lennon Crane’s established bare rental business in the Pacific Northwest will remain unchanged, with no plans to expand into operated or taxi crane services in the region.
The acquisition strengthens Mountain’s market presence across North America and adds to its service capabilities. Mountain, founded in 2004 and headquartered in Salt Lake City, operates branches in Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Arizona and Texas. The company has been recognized by the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA) with Rigging Job of the Year.
