Scott Walter Named VP of Sales for Tadano’s Manitex Segment
Tadano appoints Scott Walter as VP of sales for its Manitex Inc business to support customers and sales integration.
Tadano has appointed Scott Walter as vice president of sales for its Manitex Inc. business, a move intended to further integrate Manitex into the Tadano America organization and strengthen sales support for customers.
The appointment follows Tadano’s acquisition of Manitex Inc. and reflects ongoing efforts to align sales, service and support operations across its North American lifting equipment businesses.
“From the very beginning, we saw the Manitex Inc investment as key to meeting Tadano’s vision of becoming the leader in lifting equipment. Since last January, we’ve dedicated much time and effort in enhancing our product, services and support infrastructure for customers,” says Dean Barley, president and CEO of Tadano America Corporation, Manitex Inc and Tadano Mantis Corporation. “With this addition to the team, we are now adding an increased focus on sales. Scott has a long, proven track record of sales success and team member development. His wealth of industry experience is necessary for leading our sales teams in support of our customers’ lifting needs.”
Walter brings nearly 30 years of sales experience and more than 20 years in management to the role. His background includes contract negotiation, business development and global account management. Most recently, he spent 16 years as vice president of strategic accounts in the OEM sector for Ritchie Bros., where he led a team focused on original equipment manufacturers.
As part of the Manitex sales leadership structure, Walter will oversee sales directors Jeff Long and Anthony Hampton. Long serves as director of sales for boom trucks, bucket trucks and sign cranes, while Hampton leads sales for knuckle boom cranes. Both will report to Walter and continue to provide product-specific expertise.
“I’m honored to be joining a market-leading organization like Tadano, who has built a strong global reputation for leadership in the lifting industry and delivers innovative solutions and services for its customers,” comments Walter. “Working with the Manitex Inc team, Tadano has leveraged its experience to simplify the business, equipment distributors and customers with innovative tools to ensure success, and strengthened customer support by creating a laser focus on each of the key product lines. I’m excited to get to work and do my part to build on this success.”
